Report review guide

Use this guide after StoreFix AI creates a saved report. It explains which findings are ready for merchant-approved updates, which findings need human review, what evidence to save, and when to contact support before approving more fields.

Best validation path

Open one saved report, use the report filters, inspect 3-5 known products, approve one low-risk field, confirm the saved undo evidence, then run a new scan if you want before/after issue movement. Do not batch-approve changes until the first report and undo path make sense.

For first-10 customer validation, record the run in the first customer validation packet so support questions and willingness-to-pay signals are not lost.

When the report review is part of an install walkthrough, score it in the install conversion checklist. The checklist turns report confusion, one-field approval, undo confidence, and pricing objections into the next product task.

What each report status means

Status Meaning Merchant action
Approval-ready StoreFix AI has a suggested value for a writable product field. Review the draft, select only approved fields, then use the confirmation step before applying.
Needs manual input The product needs context StoreFix AI cannot safely infer, such as materials, sizing, or brand-specific details. Edit the product manually or add the missing context before relying on AI-generated copy.
Review-only warning The report found a risk such as duplicate copy, missing images, or missing catalog context, but StoreFix AI should not write a blind fix. Use the finding as a QA checklist item; do not treat it as a one-click rewrite request.
Rollback available StoreFix AI saved the previous value before an approved update. Use Undo from the same saved report if the applied field should be restored.
Update failed Shopify rejected or could not complete the selected update. Try one field at a time, confirm the store/product still matches, and send the support packet if it repeats.

How to use filters

If the Needs review filter shows duplicate descriptions, missing product images, or missing catalog context, treat those as review-only warnings. They are product QA prompts, not one-click write requests.

Approval vs review-only panel

Shared reports now summarize the review queue before the product cards. Use that panel to decide whether the report is ready for one safe approved update or whether the merchant needs to add product knowledge first.

StoreFix can fix

Generated values exist for writable fields such as product description, search listing title, search listing description, or image alt text. Review the draft before selecting the field.

Needs input

The product is missing details StoreFix should not invent, such as materials, audience, delivery details, compatibility, or visual facts from an image.

Review-only

Warnings such as duplicate descriptions, no product image, or missing catalog context should become merchant QA tasks before any write is approved.

Some findings are intentionally not one-click fixes. Duplicate descriptions, missing product images, and missing catalog context can be real catalog problems, but they need product knowledge before StoreFix AI should change anything.

Duplicate product description The app can detect repeated copy, but it cannot know whether products are intentionally similar. Compare the products, add real differentiators, then rescan.
Missing product image Alt text cannot be improved if a product has no usable media. Add or fix product images in Shopify Admin before approving image-related work.
Missing catalog context Vendor, type, tags, or product category may be needed to write useful recommendations. Add operational product context where it supports filtering, reporting, collections, or channel sync.
