Troubleshooting StoreFix AI
Use this checklist when a scan, saved report, approved update, or undo does not behave as expected. StoreFix AI can only scan and update the Shopify store where the app is currently opened inside Shopify Admin.
Before opening a support ticket
If the report is working but the labels are confusing, read the report review guide first. It explains approval-ready fields, review-only warnings, filters, saved undo evidence, and the exact support packet to send.
If install, report creation, an approved update, media retry, or undo is blocked, use the support escalation guide to classify the request before asking the merchant to approve more fields.
What to collect first
- Shopify store domain, such as
example.myshopify.com. - Report ID or job ID shown in StoreFix AI.
- Affected product title, handle, or Shopify product ID.
- Selected field that failed: product description, search listing title, search listing description, or image alt text.
- Whether the update appears under Applied updates and can be selected for Undo.
- Screenshot of the error or report status message.
Saved report opens the wrong store
- Open admin.shopify.com.
- Select the Shopify store that owns the report.
- Open Apps, choose StoreFix AI, then open the saved report again.
- If the report still shows a store mismatch, do not apply updates. Contact support with the report ID and the current Shopify admin URL.
Scan finds no products
- Confirm the selected Shopify store has active products in Shopify Admin.
- Confirm StoreFix AI was opened from the correct store's Apps page.
- Refresh StoreFix AI from Shopify Admin and run Catalog QA again.
- If the store has products but the scan remains empty, include the store domain and approximate product count in the support request.
Approved update fails
- Apply one selected field first, then retry the remaining fields after the first one succeeds.
- Confirm the product still exists and has not been deleted or duplicated in Shopify Admin.
- For image alt text, wait a few minutes and retry because Shopify media may still be processing.
- Check whether the StoreFix AI app still has product read/write permission in Shopify Admin.
- If the error repeats, send the report ID, product title, selected field, and error text.
Undo is missing or fails
- Undo is available only for fields where StoreFix AI saved the current product values before applying an approved update.
- Return to the same saved report where the update was applied; undo history is tied to the report and product field.
- If undo fails, do not retry broad batches. Send support the report ID, product title, field name, and Applied updates status shown on the page.
