Install conversion
checklist
Use this checklist when StoreFix AI gets a real merchant, prospect, or test-store walkthrough from the Shopify App Store listing. The goal is to find the exact point where interest turns into install, report review, one approved update, undo confidence, or a pricing/support objection.
Revenue-validation rule
Count a run as useful only if it produces evidence: the merchant reached the app, created or opened a saved report, understood at least one recommendation, and gave a clear next signal. A screenshot alone is not enough; capture the merchant's question, hesitation, or willingness-to-pay response.
Do not batch-approve updates during this run. One low-risk selected field proves the write-safe workflow without creating support risk.
Conversion stages
| Stage | Pass signal | Failure to record |
|---|---|---|
| Listing click | Merchant understands StoreFix AI checks product-page gaps, search result text, image descriptions, and approval controls. | Listing copy sounds like generic SEO, broad marketing, or a product-description generator. |
| Install or open | Merchant reaches StoreFix AI inside the intended Shopify Admin store without asking which button to use. | Wrong store, permissions confusion, Shopify account friction, or app-open loop. |
| First scan | Catalog QA shows the correct shop domain, product count, score, and no-edit scan language. | No products found, wrong shop warning, unclear scan scope, or fear that the app already changed products. |
| Saved report | Merchant can use High priority, Needs review, and Looks good filters and explain one finding back in plain language. | Issue label confusion, too much table density, unclear approval-ready versus review-only status. |
| One approved update | Merchant approves exactly one low-risk field after reading the draft and confirmation summary. | Draft lacks product facts, approval control is hard to find, or merchant wants bulk edits before trust is earned. |
| Undo evidence | Applied updates shows the saved snapshot, and the merchant understands how to restore the previous value. | Undo is not visible, rollback message is unclear, or merchant does not believe the original value was preserved. |
| Pricing signal | Merchant can say whether StoreFix AI is worth keeping after first-10 Founding validation, and why. | Merchant sees value only as a one-time audit, or does not understand the $5/month Founding plan versus later tiers. |
Run scorecard
Score each stage immediately after the walkthrough. Use the lowest score as the next product task; do not average away a blocking step.
| Score | Meaning | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Merchant completed the stage without help and understood the result. | Keep copy and UI mostly unchanged; collect the quote or screenshot as proof. |
| 1 | Merchant completed the stage, but needed explanation or showed hesitation. | Improve copy, helper text, guide links, or support packet wording before the next run. |
| 0 | Merchant could not complete the stage or did not trust the result. | Treat as the next blocking product/support task before seeking more traffic. |

Pricing objection log
- Pricing confusion: record whether the Shopify App Store $5/month Founding plan and later-tier timing are clear.
- One-time audit framing: record whether the merchant values a single report but not ongoing monitoring, rescans, write-safe updates, or undo logs.
- Trust objection: record whether the merchant needs more proof before approving writes, such as before/after score movement or clearer undo snapshots.
- Support concern: record whether the merchant expects human help to interpret findings, which affects pricing and onboarding promises.
